background: The Battle of the Pusan Perimeter, fought in August and September of 1950, was a crucial early conflict in the Korean War where United Nations forces, primarily American and South Korean troops, held a defensive line around the southeastern port city of Pusan against a massive North Korean assault. Despite being pushed to the brink, the UN forces, bolstered by superior logistics, air and naval support, and fresh reinforcements, successfully repelled repeated North Korean attacks. The battle marked a turning point in the war, setting the stage for the successful Inchon Landing and the eventual pushback of North Korean forces.
