The entire front page shows: 'Vesuvius In Eruption'.
The prime print would be the full page captioned: "Champion Baseball Players" showing portraits of twelve players from various baseball teams, including James O'Rourke, John Ward, Joseph Hornung, William Ewing, and others.
Among other prints in the issue are: "The Twelfth Regiment Armory" "The President At Gettysburg" "A Stock Farm of Thorough-Breds in Kentucky" and "The New Board of Trade in Chicago".
Sixteen page, good condition.

Note: The May 16, 1885 issue of Harper's Weekly features a notaoteble full-page woodcut titled "Champion Baseball Players," showcasing portraits of twelve prominent baseball figures of the era. This illustration is considered one of the earliest published representations of an all-star lineup, with each player depicted in their respective field positions. The featured players include Hall of Famers such as Charles "Old Hoss" Radbourn, Buck Ewing, Mike "King" Kelly, John Montgomery Ward, and James "Orator" O'Rourke, among others.
