The front page includes several reports concerning work towards a treaty with England, with a few bits including: "Sir Guy Carleton, immediately on his arrival at New York, dispatched a messenger to Congress with a copy of his commission & the powers vested in him by government for opening a treaty with America...Mr. Laurens is likewise said to have sent several letters by Mr. Digges approving of the federal Plan of Union...a favorable answer from Congress accompanied with proposals of a truce with Great Britain for three years..." and more.
Page 3 has additional reports from "America" taking half a column including a letter from Kentucky concerning the work of General George Rogers Clark in the western frontier. Rare to find mention of Clark from during the Revolutionary War.
These reports also mention that: "...reported from Lancaster that 160 men of the militia from the Ohio have destroyed two Delaware Indian towns, killed 95 Indians and that some of the Moravian Indians who had been amongst them were also killed...".
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, red tax stamp on the front page, good condition.
