* On negotiating a treaty of peace with England

The back page has a report that, in part: "That Mr. Adams, now at the Hague, has been many months in possession of full power to treat singly with our ministers on the score of peace...four other gentlemen have been joined with him & vested by Congress with the same power, among whom are Mr. Laurens, Mr. Jay, and a late governor of Virginia...That there are no dissensions between the French & Americans, nor the least probability of the Americans making a peace independent of their engagements with the French..." and more.
