All of the front page, a portion of page 2, and the full front page of the "Extraordinary" sheet which is included, is taken up with the notable letter of Thomas Jefferson as Secretary of State to Governeur Morris, America's ambassador to France. The subject concerns the Citizen Genet Affair, whereby the U.S. tried to maintain neutrality in the problems between England & France. It is signed at its conclusion: Thomas Jefferson.
The back page of the Extraordinary is a response to Jefferson from the French ambassador to the U.S., signed: Genet.
Six pages with the "Extraordinary" single sheet, never-trimmed margins, handsome masthead, some ftpg. ink stains, a bit irregular at the spine margin.
