CHICAGO DAILY TRIBUNE, Oct. 22, 1934
* Charles Pretty Boy Floyd
* Public enemy No. 1 shot (killed)
The front page has a column head: "Believe 'Pretty Boy' Dying of Bullet Wound". The article begins: "Melvin Purvis, in charge of federal agents hunting for Charles (Pretty Boy) Floyd, today expressed the opinion that Floyd is either dead or dying in the woods near here..." with more.
The back page is entirely taken up with photos, the top three of which are related to Floyd. Part of the banner headline has: "...Outlaw Caught After Gun Battle in Ohio" and the photos show 'Pretty Boy" Floyd and partner Adam Richetti.
Great to have this gangster-era report in a Chicago newspaper.
