Very late in the war, in fact less than a week before Japan surrendered, Russia declared war on Japan, noted here in a dramatic banner headline dropped out of a black box: "RUSS-JAP WAR ! " One of the other banner headlines notes: "New Atom Bomb Attack Readied" with many related subheads (see).
