April 16, 1912

THE TIMES, London, April 16, 1912  In typical "Times" fashion this is a very modest presentation on the sinking of the Titanic, yet terrific to have in this revered newspaper from England, the country from which the Titanic inaugurated its fateful voyage. The entire front page is taken up with notices & ads, with a page 9 column head: "TITANIC SUNK" "Terrible  Loss Of Life Feared" "Collision With An Iceberg" "Official Messages" with a few subheads (see).
The report takes an entire column & carries over to page 10 where the report takes most of the page & includes the: "List of The Passengers" including those in: "First Class" and "Second Class". Various subheads on pg. 10 include: "Earlier News in New York" "Plight Of The Vessel" "Other Liners Race To Her Assistance" "The Passengers" "Largest Vessel In The World" "Underwriters' Loss' "Hull of the Vessel Valued at a Million Sterling" and more. Included also are two maps, one headed: "Position of The Titanic At the Time of the Disaster".
Complete in 24 pages, disbound and printed very high quality newsprint, an aged tape mend to the front page, a few other archival mends near margin, blue library stamp in the upper right corner, otherwise very nice.
