As you may imagine it is quite rare to find Mississippi newspapers from during the Civil War. After the fall of New Orleans in 1862 Natchez surrendered to Yankee forces, and U.S. Grant occupied the city in 1863. Among the articles within: "From Richmond" "Latest News From East Tennessee" "Cumberland Gap Cut Off--Escape from Atlanta, etc." "General Sherman's Campaign" "It's Probable Object & Direction" "The Conscript Law" "The Very Latest!" "Confederate Reports" and much more. The back page has five general & special orders plus a military "Circular".
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, light foxing & mile fold wear, nice condition.
