THE EDINBURGH EVENING COURANT, Scotland, October 13, 1726
* Very rare title from the early 18th century
* Nice masthead engravings
See the photo for one of the more beautiful, displayable mastheads of the 18th century, featuring two woodblock engravings, one showing two post boys on horseback trumpeting the news, and the other showing a winged angel trumpeting the news. Additionally, the first letter in the first column is within yet another very decorative engraving, all making the front page quite displayable.
This four page newspaper contains various news from Europe. The back page notes ships to various parts including one from Jamaica (see photos).
An archival repair to a missing blank strip at the spine of the back leaf (see photos), otherwise in very nice condition & a partial red-inked tax stamp on page 3. Measures 7 3/4 by 9 1/2 inches.
