THE NEW YORK TIMES, May 8, 1945 This 34 page newspaper has a great four line banner headline: "THE IN EUROPE IS ENDED ! NAZIS SIGN SURRENDER TERMS; V-E WILL BE PROCLAIMED TODAY; LAST FIGHTING IN CZECH POCKET" with many subheads and a related photo showing a huge celebratory crowd in Times Square. There is additional coverage on inside pages.
Among other reports within the issue is the creation of the United States Negro baseball league with heading: "U.S. Negro League Is Launched With Brown Dodgers in Brooklyn".
Great to have this extremely historic report in this desirable newspaper. Complete in 34 pages and in uncommonly nice, clean condition.
