June 07, 1944

FRANCE, London, June 7, 1944  A fascinating & quite rare newspaper printed entirely in French, with their motto beneath the title: "Libertie * Egalite * Fraternite". This was a "French" newspaper published in London for not only the French refugees who had fled the Nazi occupation of France, but perhaps for distribution in France during the occupation. And this is an extremely significant issue announcing the D-Day landing on the north coast of France, the banner headline translated to: "The Allies Gained a Foothold on the Soil of France". Other related subheads on the ftpg. & inside.
Four pages, tabloid-size, very nice condition.
