THE INDEPENDENT GAZETTEER OR CHRONICLE OF FREEDOM, Philadelphia, Aug. 27, 1789 A pg. 2 editorial begins: "At this momentous crisis, when Congress, in compliance with the earnest wishes of...the citizens...are proceeding to revise & amend the new constitution...every patriotic citizen is loudly called upon to exert all his abilities & influence to obtain the requisite amendments..." with much more taking over two-thirds of the page. A wealth of ads in this issue. Four pgs., nice condition, measures about 9 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches.
