Handwritten document for the sale of 240 acres of land in Liberty County, South Carolina, 1799:
Four pages, the first of which is the document detailing the transfer of 240 acres of land from Hugh Giles to Needham Watson, dated at the bottom of the first page: "...Witness my hand and seal this seventh day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety-nine, and in the twenty fourth year of the independence of the United States of America", with signatures and a red wax seal next ot Hugh Giles' signature.
Page 2 has an endorsement from Sarah Giles, wife of Hugh Giles, with an addendum at the end: "The above named Sarah Giles died before execution of remuneration."
The back page has another endorsement from January 17, 1801.
A single sheet folded in half, 9 1/4 by 14 3/4 inches, folded several times with some mild wear at the folds, generally in good condition.
