CONNECTICUT MIRROR, Hartford, March 8, 1813

* USS United States vs. HMS Macedonian
* USS Wasp vs. HMS Frolic

The entire front page is taken up with a "Declaration" headed: "British manifesto vs. America". Inside has: "Capture of the Frolic" by the U.S. ship Wasp, followed by: "Capture of the Macedonian" by the ship United States.
Also: "Macedonian Frigate", and a letter from Albany beginning: "Yesterday afternoon we had various flying reports relating to the burning of Sacket's Harbour & the destruction of our little naval force at that place...", followed by a letter from Brig. Gen. Winchester as a prisoner of war. There is also much reporting on the war in Europe.
Four pages, very nice, clean condition.
