This is an interesting deed for the purchase of a church pew in: "...the Baptist Meeting House, near the Dock Village, so called, in Alna, in consideration of the sum of $33.25....do bargain, sell and convey...a Pew in the said House, No. forty..." with further legal wording (see). This is in the state of Maine and is dated June 11, 1839. Various signatures and a covered red wax seal. Measures 6 3/4 by 8 1/2 inches, nice condition.
