SECTION TWO (sports) only of the Chicago Sunday Tribune, April 4, 1926

* Fitchburg High School Boys' basketball
* Wins national championship in Chicago

The top of the front page of this section has a nice banner headline for display: "FITCHBURG WINS NATIONAL BASKET TITLE" with subheads. (see images) Probably reported here because the tournament was held in Chicago. Very rare as such. See below for more details.
Complete section two (sports) only with 12 pages, light toning and minor wear at the margins, generally nice.

background: In 1926, the Fitchburg High School boys' basketball team, coached by the legendary Clarence Amiott, etched their names into sports history by capturing the National Interscholastic Basketball Championship at the University of Chicago. Despite a heartbreaking loss to Brockton in the New England tournament, the "Red Raiders" received an invitation to the prestigious 42-team national field organized by Amos Alonzo Stagg. Over the course of five grueling days, Fitchburg showcased a disciplined, fast-break style of play that overwhelmed their opponents, culminating in a dominant 25–14 victory over Fargo, North Dakota, in the title game. Led by standout players like Lauri Myllykangas and Anasto Fanos, the team finished the season with a staggering 29–1 record. This victory remains one of the most significant athletic achievements in Massachusetts history, symbolizing a "golden age" of Fitchburg sports and cementing the 1926 squad's legacy as one of the greatest high school teams ever assembled.
