AI notes: On July 24 and 25, 1979, KISS performed two consecutive nights at Madison Square Garden in New York City as part of their Dynasty Tour, which was supporting their Dynasty album released earlier that year. These shows captured KISS at the height of their late-1970s spectacle era, featuring the band’s trademark pyrotechnics, smoke, and elaborate stage production, including the use of catwalks and platforms that brought them closer to the audience. Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss delivered high-energy performances blending hard rock anthems with their more disco-influenced tracks from Dynasty, such as “I Was Made for Lovin’ You.” Fans at MSG were treated to a mix of classics like “Rock and Roll All Nite” and “Detroit Rock City,” along with the latest hits, all punctuated by Frehley’s signature guitar solos and Simmons’ fire-breathing theatrics. These concerts are remembered for their crowd intensity, the band’s theatrical flair, and the iconic New York City energy that Madison Square Garden uniquely provides.
I suspect this to be an extremely rare item because their was really no reason to save it at the time.
The Village Voice was an American counterculture newspaper known for being the country's first alternative newsweekly. It introduced free-form, high-spirited, and passionate journalism into the public discourse - a tradition it maintained throughout its 60+ year history. It is quite common to find great political cartoons, satirical cartoons and articles, thought-provoking editorials, and ads and reviews for both concerts and theater productions - both on and off Broadway. Many iconic writers and musicians credit their appearance in The Village Voice for at least a portion of their success.
Complete with 128 pages, tabloid-size, one crease across the center, small red library stamp within the dateline on the front page, very minor margin wear, nice condition.

Provenance note: This issue comes from The Village Voice's own archives, part of their in-house collection used to create their digital archive. Rare as such.
