American Anti-Slavery Society... Lucy Stone (Blackwell)... C.L. Remond... Mormon troubles...

Item # 719150

May 13, 1857

NEW YORK DAILY TIMES, May 13, 1857  Starting on page 2 and continuing on the back page are two articles covering the anniversary meeting of the American Anti-Slavery Society. The text of several speeches were included, including those of Wendell Phillips, William Lloyd Garrison, Reverend T. W. Higginson, Charles Lenox Remond, and more, along with a brief description of the appearance of Lucy Stone (Blackwell). Other coverage includes articles related to the war with the Mormons, the murder of Dr. Harvey Burdell, outrage over an innocent negro boy being murdered by "white men", "The Cooly and Slave Trade - How they are Carried on", and more.
Eight pages, slight roughness and archival mends to the black spine region, otherwise good.
