AI notes: In 1994, John Andretti became the first driver to complete "The Double" by racing in both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. He finished 10th at Indy for A.J. Foyt Enterprises, then flew to Charlotte and started last in the NASCAR race, finishing 36th due to mechanical issues. Though he didn’t complete all 1,100 miles, his historic effort inspired future attempts by other drivers.
