background: On December 31, 1981, Joan Jett performed a high-energy New Year’s Eve show at The Ritz in New York City. Riding the rising success of her debut album Bad Reputation and the just-released I Love Rock 'n Roll (November 1981), Jett delivered a powerful set that showcased her gritty punk-influenced rock sound. The concert highlighted her growing reputation as a fierce and charismatic live performer, solidifying her place in the early '80s rock scene and marking a memorable start to 1982 for fans at the iconic East Village venue.
I suspect this to be an extremely rare item because their was really no reason to save it at the time.
The Village Voice was an American counterculture newspaper known for being the country's first alternative newsweekly. It introduced free-form, high-spirited, and passionate journalism into the public discourse - a tradition it maintained throughout its 60+ year history. It is quite common to find great political cartoons, satirical cartoons and articles, thought-provoking editorials, and ads and reviews for both concerts and theater productions - both on and off Broadway. Many iconic writers and musicians credit their appearance in The Village Voice for at least a portion of their success.
Complete in 120 pages, one fold across the center, nice condition.
