wikipedia notes: On March 18, 1953, the National League unanimously approved the relocation of the Braves from Boston to Milwaukee, marking Major League Baseball's first franchise move in 50 years. Driven by declining attendance in Boston and the opportunity to play in the brand-new Milwaukee County Stadium, the move was an instant success. The newly renamed Milwaukee Braves drew over 1.8 million fans in their first season, revitalizing the franchise and setting a precedent for future team relocations. This historic shift helped establish Milwaukee as a major league city and reshaped the landscape of professional baseball.
