CONNECTICUT SPECTATOR, Middletown, March 15, 1815  Page 2 has 1 1/2 columns taken up with considerable detail headed: "Official Account Of The Capture of The President" written by: Stephen Decatur. It begins: "The painful duty of detailing to you the particular causes which preceded and led to the capture of the late U.S. Frigate President by a squadron of his Britannic Majesty's ships...has devolved upon me..." and what follows are those details.
Page 3 has: "By the President of the United States of America - A PROCLAMATION" for a day of thanksgiving for the end of the War of 1812, signed in type: James Madison.
Four pages, very nice condition.
