Note: On November 17, 1945, Irma Grese and Josef Kramer, both former Nazi concentration camp personnel, were convicted of war crimes for their roles in the atrocities committed at camps such as Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen. Grese, known for her brutality, was the youngest woman to be sentenced to death during the trials, while Kramer, nicknamed the “Beast of Belsen,” was the camp commandant. Their trial was part of the Belsen Trial, held by the British military to prosecute those responsible for crimes against humanity. Both were found guilty and were executed by hanging on December 13, 1945.
