Note: On June 4, 2004, Marvin Heemeyer, a muffler shop owner in Granby, Colorado, carried out a destructive rampage using a heavily modified Komatsu D355A bulldozer, later dubbed the "Killdozer." Over approximately 18 months, Heemeyer fortified the bulldozer with layers of steel and concrete, making it impervious to small arms fire and resistant to explosives. He also equipped it with video cameras for navigation and gun ports for firearms .
The rampage was fueled by Heemeyer's longstanding disputes with local officials and business owners over zoning decisions affecting his property. During the incident, he destroyed 13 buildings, including the town hall, a concrete plant, a newspaper office, and homes associated with his grievances. Despite extensive property damage estimated at over $5 million, no one besides Heemeyer was killed or injured, largely due to timely evacuations .
The rampage ended when the bulldozer became immobilized after falling into a basement of a hardware store. Heemeyer then took his own life with a firearm. Authorities later discovered audio recordings in which he expressed a belief that his actions were divinely inspired, stating, "God built me for this job" .
