Note: Alan Berg was a Jewish-American talk radio host in Denver, Colorado, known for his outspoken liberal views and confrontational style. On June 18, 1984, he was assassinated outside his home by members of the white supremacist group known as The Order.
Berg's assassination was a targeted act by The Order, a neo-Nazi organization that sought to incite a white supremacist revolution in the United States. The group viewed Berg as a threat due to his Jewish heritage and his vocal criticism of white supremacist ideologies. On the night of his murder, Berg was ambushed in his driveway and shot multiple times with a MAC-10 submachine gun .
Following the murder, law enforcement agencies conducted extensive investigations that led to the arrest and conviction of several members of The Order. Bruce Pierce, identified as the gunman, was sentenced to 252 years in prison and died in custody in 2010 . David Lane, who served as the getaway driver, received a 190-year sentence and died in prison in 2007 .
