THE SALISBURY & WINCHESTER JOURNAL, England, Aug. 12, 1782 Very ornate & decorative lettering in the masthead. The front page has: "America" with a report from Annapolis noting: "Rivington's Royal Gazette...announcing the arrival of Sir Guy Carleton at New York as a commissioner for making peace or war in North America...and the draught of a bill brought into the British Parliament to enable the King of Great Britain to conclude a peace or truce with the United States..." followed by a Resolution.
Also on the front page is a letter signed in type by: Anthony Wayne, B.G. concerning the military situation in Georgia. The back page has a half column: "Extract from Letters by an American Farmer" which was recently published.
Four pages, folio size, great condition.
