THE ORACLE OF THE DAY, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Nov. 11, 1795 This is a quite scarce 18th century American title as it existed only until 1799 and rarely comes on the market. We suspect the circulation was somewhat limited.
Page 2 has: "A PROCLAMATION" for a day of thanksgiving, signed by the governor. A letter begins: "...This same treaty, agreed on between Gen. Washington and the British, they say will be the ruin of us. As how!..." with much more on the Jay Treaty.
Four pages, nice condition.
