UNITED STATES' WEEKLY TELEGRAPH, Washington, D.C., Jan. 17, 1831 Published by the famed Duff Green, he took an intensely partisan stance in this newspaper, incorporating crude humor & vehement attacks & accusations against Jackson's opponents. Following Andrew Jackson's election in 1828 this paper briefly became the primary organ of Jackson's administration & would take an increasingly pro-slavery position over the course of the 1830's.
Devoid of any advertisements, politics was the focus of the Telegraph although some domestic & foreign news can be found.
A 32 page newspaper, 5 1/2 by 9 inches, it appears more like a pamphlet than a newspaper. Scattered foxing, good condition.
