August 06, 1934

THE NEW YORK TIMES, Aug. 6, 1934

* Newly named Fuhrer Adolph Hitler
* British tabloid "Daily Mail" interview
* Germany doesn't want a future war ?

The top of the front page has a one column heading: "HITLER BARS WAR; ASSERTS THAT 1918 'WAS LESSON TO US'" with subheads. (see images) Was this his way of fooling the World so he could build his war machine ? This was only a few days after Hitler was officially made Fuhrer of Germany.
Thirty-two pages, light toning, one cutout on the front page in a unrelated area (see image), otherwise in good condition.

wikipedia notes: Adolf Hitler said in a Daily Mail interview that "If it rests with Germany, war will not come again. This country has a more profound impression than any other of the evil that war causes. Ninety-five percent of the members of the National Administration have had personal experiences of its horrors. They know that it is not a romantic adventure but a ghastly catastrophe."
