NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, Dec. 5, 1829 Inside has an interesting article on "The East Room" of the White House, noting is is very overdue for it to be refurbished: "...it was full of cobwebs, a few old chairs, lumbering benches, broken glass...The head of a republic ought to give an example of the thriftiness & virtuous habits of the people who put him there...".
Also a report of the death of noted jurist Bushrod Washington.
Sixteen pages, 6 3/4 by 10 1/4 inches, minor light foxing, nice condition.
