* Converting to Mormonism
Page 4 has: "Mormon Converts" which is a telegram from Salinas, California, noting in part: "... About two months ago two missionaries of Mormonism from Utah came to Long Valley...They met with such success in their labors...they have converted...all the families residing in that section to the faith of Joe Smith and Brigham Young...the greatest religious excitement prevails, and that many persons are nearly insane. Meetings are held frequently day and night...Fear of the law has alone prevented them from practicing polygamy, and it is believed that the whole population who have been converted...will soon abandon their houses and depart for Utah...that the most intense religious zeal and fanaticism has taken hold of the people and there is no telling what it will lead them to."
Eight pages, four notebook binding holes at the left side do not affect the mentioned article, very nice condition.
