THE LONDON GAZETTE, England, June 16, 1687  The back page has an uncommonly lengthy account concerning an encounter with pirates.
With a dateline of "London, June 13" the report notes in part: "...the following account of an engagement which the ship Caesar, Capt. Edmond Wright commander, maintained on the last day of October, 1686 against five East India Pyrats of several nations...a lading to the value of 10,000 pd. sterling...we had sight of five ships, which were Pyrats, and waited our coming out...concluding it absolutely the best way so two engage...two of the nimblest of the Pyrats were come up with us...fired three or four shots at us..." with much more on the encounter.
Complete as a single sheet issue, very nice condition.
