LONDON GAZETTE, May 7, 1666  A front page report from "Seville" states: "The admiral and Vice-Admiral of Spain, are providing for their Voyage into New-Spain, but will not be ready till the beginning of July, though they hasten it as much as may be, being to carry Quicksilver for their Mines, which at present is a very great want in that Province." At this time Mexico was known as New Spain.
Complete as a single sheet newspaper, 7 by 11 very nice condition.
This is the world's oldest continually published English language newspaper, having begun in 1665 and is still publishing today.
