Civil War letter headed: "Camp near White Oak Church, Va., April 3rd, 1863".
A great Civil War letter written in the field to the soldier's sister. A few bits include: "...We have been out 5 hours. We were reviewed by Fighting Joe Hooker and I do not believe the army was ever in better condition...The rebels camp are plainly visible from our parade ground...One report is they are falling back onto Richmond and that the citizens are evacuating the city..." and much more, signed: "your affectionate brother, Edward Henry."
Four pages, 5 by 8 inches, very nice, clean condition & easy to read.
