June 26, 1812
NEW-ENGLAND PALLADIUM, Boston, June 26, 1812 The middle of the front page has the very historic: "Proclamation" "By The President of the United States of America" & signed by James Madison, declaring that a state of war exists between the United States & England, marking the official beginning of the War of 1812.
This is followed by the "...Yeas and Nays in each House on the final passage of the Declaration of War..." listed by name.
Most of the balance of the front page is taken up with the very lengthy & detailed: "War Report" of the House of Representatives, giving credence to the President's declaration of war.
Relating to this, page 2 begins with: "Sober Thoughts Preparatory to a War" being one essay in a series.
Four pages, never-trimmed margins, loss to a bottom corner of the back leaf does not affect mentioned content, some wear at margins.
