EASTERN ARGUS, Portland (Maine; at this time it was part of Massachusetts, not becoming a state until 1820), May 31, 1805 Over half of the front page is taken up with six Acts of Congress, each signed in type by the President: Th. Jefferson. One relates to: "... regulating the grants of land & providing for the disposal of the lands of the United States south of the state of Tennessee."
Four pages, some very discrete archival mends, nice condition. Great for display.
