CHARLESTON DAILY COURIER, South Carolina, July 16, 1862  This was one of only a few newspapers that printed: "Confederate States of America" in the dateline.
The front page includes: "Later From the West--The Capture of General Curtis & 8000 Men--The Officers Detained & the Men Paroled" "Death of General David E. Twiggs" "General Pettagrew" "A Yankee Transaction" "The Late Captain William  M. Bratton" "An Interesting Yankee Letter" "The Federal Fleet in the James" "Annoying the Enemy" "Gen. Lee in his Army" "The Palmetto Artillery" & a few smaller items.
The back page has many reports from: "Late Northern Intelligence" with many subheads.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, light dirtiness to the front page, nice condition.
