NEW YORK WORLD-TELEGRAM, April 9, 1942

* Battle of Bataan ending
* Allies surrendering to Japanese
* Philippines Campaign
* World War II - WWII

The front page has a nice banner headline: "JAPS OVERWHELM BATAAN; 36,800 Face Death of Capture" with subheads and related map. (see images) Nice for display. This Japanese capture would lead to the infamous Bataan Death March.
Complete with 30 pages, light toning and minor wear at the margins, some small binding holes along the spine, generally very nice.

source: USO: The Battle of Bataan ended on April 9, 1942, when Army Major General Edward P. King surrendered to Japanese General Masaharu Homma. About 12,000 Americans and 63,000 Filipinos became prisoners of war.
What followed became known as the Bataan Death March — one of the worst atrocities in modern history.
