The top of the front page of the sport's section (page 19) has a banner heading: "IT STARTED CLOSE, BUT LOOK AT SEABISCUIT'S FINISH" with a few related photos. Also a four column heading: "SEABISCUIT ROMPS HOME TO MONEY-WINNING LEAD" with subhead. (see) First report coverage on famous racehorse, Seabiscuit, winning the World's Fair Handicap at Bay Meadows in San Mateo, California. Great to have in a San Francisco publication, very rare as such.
Complete with 28 pages, light toning and minor wear at the margins, some small binding holes along the spine, small library label on the front page, generally nice.
