December 29, 1860

NEW YORK WEEKLY TRIBUNE, Dec. 29, 1860

* President elect Abraham Lincoln
* Southern secession tensions building

Keep in mind this is over two months before Lincoln would be inaugurated. The front page has: "Mr. Lincoln's Views of The Crisis - The Union--It Must be Preserved" which is a nice editorial concerning the right of South Carolina to secede from the Union, and the consequences if it does, and what Lincoln would do.
Inside has several articles on the coming crisis and the disunion of several states in the South, plus: "Mr. Lincoln's Cabinet - Judge Bates the First Appointed".
Eight pages, never-trimmed margins, good condition.

Category: Pre-Civil War
