DAILY RICHMOND EXAMINER, Virginia, Sept. 12, 1863 The front page has "An Unfounded Rumor" that: "...one thousand Yankee cavalry had crossed the Pamunkey...& were moving across King William...robbing & pillaging..." with more. Also: "From Charleston" "From the Southwest" and many ads.
Plus nearly 2 columns are headed: "Acts & Resolutions of the Congress of the Confederate States Passed at the Third Session--1863".
The back page has some war-related news including the always interesting editorial which takes over a full column. Also much from "The Virginia Legislature" "Gen. Washington on the Impressment of Property" being a letter signed by him: Geo. Washington, dated 1780; "The Situation in Tennessee" "Surgeons Of Hospitals" "Latest From Europe--The Building of Confederate Ironclads in Europe--Operations of Our Privateers" & "Latest From the North" with several subheads, including: "Lincoln's Views Concerning the Exchange of Officers of Colored Regiments".
Complete as a single sheet issue with a full banner masthead, minor piece from the blank bottom margin, very nice condition.
