November 23, 1862

NEW YORK HERALD, Nov. 23, 1862 The front page features a quite large Civil War map headed: "BURNSIDE'S CAMPAIGN. Scene of the Expected Battle at Fredericksburg, Virginia---The Position of Falmouth, the Headquarters of General Burnside."
The many front page column heads include: "The Demand for the Surrender of Fredericksburg" "The Reply of the Mayor of the City" "Attack on the Union Working Parties Near Halltown" "The Rebels Driven Back With Loss" "The Mississippi River Expedition" "The Expedition to Start from Columbus, Ky." and more, war text taking the entire front page & more on the inside as well.
There is yet another Civil War map on the back page headed: "Destruction of St. Marys, Georgia" with related text.
Eight pages, minor margin tears at the bottom, nice condition.
