DAILY NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER, Washington, D.C., Dec. 5, 1857 Page 3 has the brief but interesting report, "A PLACE OF MORMON REFUGE", which includes in part: "It is stated that the Mormons, among their other preparations, have not forgotten to look out a "Canaan" of refuge, in case the United States would disagree too severely with their particular institutions." It goes on to say that a good location of refuge might be Sonora and Lower California, outside the jurisdiction of the United States. See the photos for additional details.
Two additional articles on page 3 are regarding the Kansas situation.
Four pages, a bit irregular at the spine due to disbinding, minor foxing, good condition.
Note: The folder-size which is tagged for this issue assumes the issue will be folded in half at the midfold. If you do not want it folded, you will need to order the 30"x23" folder.
