DAILY NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER, Washington, D.C., March 30, 1853  Page 3 has: "The Latter-Day Saints, or Mormons" which mentions in part: "...arrived, via New Orleans, ab out 330 persons, Mormons, on their way to the Salt Lake, chiefly from England...that there are six more ships on the way, chiefly freighted with members of this church...estimates the number expected ...at from 2,500 to 3,000...The growth of this body is one of the most singular novelties of the day."
Another item is rather brief: "Indian Agency" noting: "The President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, has appointed the celebrated Kit Carson to an Indian Agency in and for New Mexico."
Four pages, some binding indents at the blank spine, nice condition.
