NILES' NATIONAL REGISTER, Baltimore, July 3, 1847 Page 3 has; "Sad News From the Plains--Capture of a Wagon Train--Murder of Teamsters" which has details of an attack: "...by combined force of Arrapahoes, Camaches, and Pawnees..." with more detail.
There is also much reporting on the: "War With Mexico" which also includes: "Santa Anna's Letter of Resignation" signed by him in type: Antonio Lopez De Santa Anna.
Also within is: "The Mormon Temple" which mentions in part: "This celebrated edifice has been sold to a committee of the Catholic church for $65,000...The last of the Mormons in Nauvoo...have left Nauvoo to join the California expedition...".
Sixteen pages, 9 by 11 3/4 inches, scattered foxing, tiny binding holes at the blank spine, good condition.
As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
