THE DAY, New London, Connecticut, May 4, 1921  Page 2 begins with a one-third column article headed: "30,000 U.S. Dead Remain In France".
This article reports the "back story" of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. One of the unknown dead who was disinterred in a grave in France would be randomly selected to be entombed in the newly-created memorial in Arlington Cemetery on Nov. 11, 1921, three years after the Armistice which ended World War I, President Harding doing the dedication.
Complete in 12 pages, loose at the spine, some fold foxing, generally good condition.
