LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED, New York, Nov. 17, 1866 Inside has a half page print: "The Misses Cooke's School Room, Freedman's Bureau, Richmond, Va." showing a room full of African-American student.
With a baseball connection, there is a small portrait of "Frank Pigeon, Of The Eckford B.B. Club, Brooklyn E. D.".
The double page centerfold has three views of the slaughter "Houses at Communipaw, New Jersey". Also a full page with a one-third page view of: "The Vassar Female College At Poughkeepsie, New York" plus a large portrait of the founder, "Mathew Vassar", and small illustrations of the riding school and observatory at Vassar.
Sixteen pages, nice condition.
