THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, June 23, 1798 Perhaps the prime content are the two articles on page 7 related to the Irish Rebellion, the first being: "STATE OF IRELAND", which contains a proclamation by Lord George Cavendish attempting to preserve the House of Ireland. The second is: POSTSCRIPT. LONDON", which contains several letters with rebellion related news from Belfast, Wexford, Dublin, Cork, and more. See images for details.
Page 4 has several brief reports from America including updates from Jamaica, St. Domingo (including a mention of Toussaint), a brief report from Wilmington (North Carolina) mentioning a great fire which destroyed much of the city, and a report from Philadelphia stating three letters had been sent to the President of the United States threatening to set fire to the city in a week's time.
Other news of the day is found throughout.
Complete in 8 pages, a bit of close-trimming at the top without loss, overall in good condition.
