Item # 679081
January 14, 1933
THE DETROIT NEWS, Jan. 14, 1933
* Augusta National Golf Club course opens
* Founded by golfer Bobby Jones - Georgia
* "The Masters Tournament" major fame
The bottom of page 16 has a very brief and discrete report which begins with: "The Augusta National Golf Course at Augusta, Ga., built after the ideas of Bobby Jones, was opened yesterday..." Unfortunate for the very discrete report here but still a first report on the opening of Augusta National Golf Club course, agreeably the most famous golf course in the country.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Complete in 18 pages, rag edition in very nice condition.
